PPS Fiber 100% Wet-Laid Nonwoven Fabric
PS Type

This is the world’s first wet-laid nonwoven fabric made entirely from PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) fiber. PPS fiber is a high-performance crystalline thermoplastic engineering resin that exhibits outstanding properties, including heat resistance (melting point: 280°C; continuous service temperature: 200–220°C), steam resistance, chemical resistance (stable against acids, alkalis, and organic solvents), thermal insulation, and flame retardancy (self-extinguishing with a high Limiting Oxygen Index of 34). The PS type is a high-performance nonwoven fabric processed to a thickness range of 29–195 μm, fully leveraging the unique features of PPS fiber.

Key Features

  • Heat resistance
  • Chemical resistance
  • Flame retardancy
  • Steam resistance

Application Examples

PS Type is used in demanding applications requiring high heat and chemical resistance, such as in the energy and mobility sectors.

Automotive mobility application – PS type PPS nonwoven fabric for high-temperature environments Energy sector application – PS type PPS nonwoven fabric for power generation equipment

Heat Resistance

PPS is classified as a super engineering plastic, with a maximum continuous use temperature of 200–220°C and a high melting point of 280°C. Compared to other polymers like PET and PE, it has excellent heat resistance, comparable to PTFE, which is a type of PFAS compound.

Chemical Resistance

PPS is resistant to many organic solvents and alkalis. Compared to polymers like PET and PE, it shows superior chemical resistance and is gaining attention as a potential alternative to PTFE.
